In the book I'm reading,
Children of the River, Sundara and her family have a hard time adapting to America's culture with relationships. Her family does not want her to interact flirtatiously with boys but Sundara is starting to realize that she wants to. But her family would not approve, they are used to picking out who she talks to. Also, they are adjusting to America's food industry. We have lots of greasy fast food, while they were used to east healthy, fresh produce.
